Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them (2016)

Basic Summary – The year is 1926, and Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) has just completed a global excursion to find and document an extraordinary array of magical creatures. Arriving in New York for a brief stopover, he might have come and gone without incident, were it not for a No-Maj (American for Muggle) named Jacob, a misplaced magical case, and the escape of some of Newt’s fantastic beasts, which could spell trouble for both the wizarding and No-Maj worlds.

Long time since I’ve written, but I just saw this and I just had to write about it. The Harry Potter Universe grows and I’m okay with it. Here we have the first of many to come and it was beautiful. The story was easy mostly to follow and the characters were beautiful and comedic as well. The magically beings were beautiful although they were incredibly CGI-ed, but I expect that.

The only flaw I have with this – and I will try not to spoil much since the film just came out – is that I felt there were 2 big stories going on at the same time and the connection between them was very very weak. I would be okay if it was just one story and maybe another story for another film. Other than that, it was funny and magical.

Please go check this film out. It just dropped and it is a magical ride back to the Harry Potter Universe.
