Basic Summary – Former bull-riding champion Luke (Scott Eastwood) and college student Sophia (Britt Robertson) are in love, but conflicting paths and ideals threaten to tear them apart: Luke hopes to make a comeback on the rodeo circuit, and Sophia is about to embark on her dream job in New York’s art world. As the couple ponder their romantic future, they find inspiration in Ira (Alan Alda), an elderly man whose decades-long romance with his beloved wife withstood the test of time.
I won’t deny this is probably up there on one of my favorite Nicholas Sparks’s films. The story feels fresh and new. It follows a similar storyline as most of his stories, but I think the direction they gave the actors makes it feel new.
The story is pretty entertaining and the chemistry between the 2 main couples in the story is very believable. I would spoil the film a bit, but I actually enjoyed the resolution in the end for both couples. I enjoy that there isn’t a time gap between the couples meeting and then getting together and all that drama. It gets right to the point and deals with their struggle at the time.
I would actually recommend this film, especially if you are kinda against these films, it might change your mind.
