Basic Summary – It’s the summer of 1987, and recent college grad James Brennan (Jesse Eisenberg) can’t wait to begin his long-anticipated dream trip to Europe. Unfortunately, James’ plans come to a screeching halt when his parents announce that they are unable to subsidize his trip. Forced to take a job at the local amusement park, James prepares for the worst summer ever, until he finds love with a captivating co-worker named Em (Kristen Stewart).
A small indie film that is surprisingly good and I kinda wish more people knew about it. The story is pretty simple on summer jobs post-college and coming of age. Nothing really shocks you in the story – it’s pretty straight forward.
The actors are spot on – they are hilarious. But then again, I expect that from almost every comedian being part of this film.
Every scene made me laugh at some point. Personally, I wish the film was longer, but looking back I think it was a good time frame.
