Basic Summary – Teenage Cady Heron (Lindsay Lohan) was educated in Africa by her scientist parents. When her family moves to the suburbs of Illinois, Cady finally gets to experience public school and gets a quick primer on the cruel, tacit laws of popularity that divide her fellow students into tightly knit cliques. She unwittingly finds herself in the good graces of an elite group of cool students dubbed “the Plastics,” but Cady soon realizes how her shallow group of new friends earned this nickname.
I think it was about time I did something with this film. I recently watched it while doing homework because I needed to laugh at something. This film is EXTREMELY popular still – and I can see while when watching this film. Everyone has had some similar experience when watching this film. You don’t have to relate to the main character, but you can reflect back to this time easily or use it as a warning if you are just entering high school.
These actors are HILARIOUS in their roles. I don’t even think I could imagine them outside of the characters (even though they’ve all gone on to amazing roles afterwards). Tina Fay really outdid herself with this film. It isn’t completely outdated thankfully and has lines that (if you have a teenager or college student) are still previlate today.
If you haven’t seen this film, sadly it isn’t on Netflix at least in America, but other countries probably have it. My only word of advice is not to watch the 2nd one (which I’ll get to eventually…)
