Basic Summary – Ferris Bueller (Matthew Broderick) has an uncanny skill at cutting classes and getting away with it. Intending to make one last duck-out before graduation, Ferris calls in sick, “borrows” a Ferrari, and embarks on a one-day journey through the streets of Chicago. On Ferris’ trail is high school principal Rooney (Jeffrey Jones), determined to catch him in the act.
The amount of memes and quotes from this movie is astounding. Ferris Bueller’s Day Off is something special in itself. Made in the 80s, this film has aged relatively well. The idea of skipping an entire day of school with your friends to enjoy everything that can be done in a single day. Most people have work so you basically run the town.
There isn’t many memorable things about this film except for the quotes that make an appearance every now and then on tumblr or buzzfeed. Even teachers sometimes use lines from this film when there is a silence upon the classroom (also showing their ages – no offense teachers). The characters – I’m not sure how believable they are supposed to be – but I like them all. I mean no one really got on my nerves. It has its comedic moments so yeah.
Where to find it – Netflix…it is always going to be your best friend
